Transporting and storing your submarine is a vital part of the hobby, and doing so safely is imperative.
These custom made shipping crates are built for your specific boat and will ship in pre-cut sections, ready for fast and easy assembly. Stringers are spruce and crate walls are MDF. The package also comes with all screws needed for assembly. You just need some white glue (optional), a drill and a phillips head bit!
The lid is engineered for quick and easy access to your boat by simply sliding the lid out of the pre-cut grooves in the crate sides.
To purchase your crate, measure your submarine's length, beam and height. Add a buffer around the perimeter that you feel comfortable with. I recommend at least 1" on all sides, though 1.5" or even 2" is perfectly good as well. Therefore, take the three measurements of your boat, and add between 2" and 4" to each when relaying your required inside crate dimensions.
As these are built to order, please allow up to 2 weeks for construction and shipping.
To determine which size crate to order, take your inside dimensions (length, width and height) and add them together. For example, if your submarine measures 40" long, 4" wide and 6" tall, and you want a 1" buffer all around your boat, you would add 2" to all of those measurements, which would yield (40+2)+(4+2)+(6+2), or 56"
- Small Crates are considered anything tallying up to less than 60"
