ABOUT the
nautilus drydocks
How I got started
It was back in 1999 when I first got it in my head that an RC submarine would be a pretty cool thing to have. Newly married and with no money, I was (thankfully) forced to learn the ins and outs of scratchbuilding nearly everything for my very first RC submarine, a 32nd scale Disney Nautilus.
From woodworking to fiberglassing, mold-making to electronics, physics to painting... I researched all I could and after a 3 year odyssey, finally launched my first boat.
From there, I slowly amassed an ever-increasing resume of projects, the majority of which I saw through to completion. It was shortly thereafter that I started to be approached by other people to build models for them.
Over the years, I've continued to foster my love for the submarine world, but have reached out in many others including fantasy and science fiction as well.
Who are we now?
Today, the Nautilus Drydocks has grown into a thriving business. With the acquisition of Sub-Driver.com in November of 2016, a wide range of new product offerings were added to our offerings and the Sub-Driver forums were brought under the banner of the Nautilus Drydocks.

While originally a platform to showcase my builds, the site is now much more. It is an information resource for those new to the submarine world or who have been in it for years. It is a place to source high-quality, affordable kits, electronics and components for R/C submarines, and it is a forum to discuss the hobby in general.
We have high hopes that the Nautilus Drydocks will continue to grow, adding new products from trustworthy vendors as well as our own in-house line of offerings as well.
Thank you for visiting, and we hope to hear from you very soon!
Please bear in mind that this is a small hobby in the grand scheme of things.
MANY OF OUR PRODUCTS ARE NOT PRODUCED UNTIL WE RECEIVE A CUSTOMER ORDER FOR THEM. IN MANY CASES THIS COULD MEAN A LEAD TIME OF SEVERAL WEEKS. PLEASE EMAIL ME FOR MORE INFORMATION.
